    Set up your accounting

Transactions are imported into the Transactions table.

After the import, it is necessary to manually complete some information on the imported data. If immediately after the import, errors appear in the record tables, no problem, they will disappear once the imported data is completed with the missing information.

    Accounts table

All accounts used in imported transactions that do not exist in the chart of accounts in Banana are automatically added to the bottom of the table. The information for the new imported accounts must be completed:

    • You can move the account by repositioning it in another row.
    • Check that the BClass automatically set during import is correct.
    • Set the correct grouping in the Sum In column.
    • Set the correct account currency. *

*Set the correct currency also to those accounts that were already in the chart of accounts in Banana but with a different currency than the one assigned to them in Bexio.

See accounts management in Banana: Accounts.

    Vat table

Some of the vat codes used in imported transactions are automatically recognised and converted into vat codes used by Banana, unrecognised codes are inserted at the bottom of the vat table as new elements and you can choose to:

    • Complete the VAT code information and create a new rate within the table, below is an explanation of how the VAT table is structured: VAT Codes Table.
    • (RECOMMENDED) Check whether the new VAT rate entered already corresponds to one of the existing VAT rates, there is probably already an identical rate that suits you, in that case you must update the rows in the Transactions table that refer to the old code and replace it with the new one, to do that you can use the Find and Replace function. Once you have finished the replacement in the records table, you can delete the rows with the old codes.

In the Transactions table you may see some errors or warnings concerning the registration of VAT:

See VAT management in Banana: VAT Management.

    Check accounting

At this point your accounting in Banana is ready and should no longer present any problems, you can perform a further control by checking and  recalculating your accounting.
