On MacOS I get the message "BananaPlus" can't be opened

MacOS includes a technology called Gatekeeper, that's designed to ensure that only trusted software runs on your Mac. On older versions of MacOS, when you try to run Banana+ the first time, it may show this message:

"BananaPlus" can't be openend ecause the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

After seeing this message, you can safely unblock Banana+ by following this procedure:

  1. Click on the Apple menu -> System Preferences

    Open system preferences
     
  2. Click on "Security & Privacy"

    MacOS system preferences
     
  3. Click on the lock to enable editing and then click on the button "Open Anyway"

    Go under the General tab, Unlock to enable editing. Then click on the "Open Anyway" button.
