Error: cannot open file due to '%1'.

This error message is shown when it is not possible to access the file.
The full name of the file is also shown.

Causes

Instead of  %1 the program shows the error message that your operating system reports to the program (in your operating system language)

Possible causes:

  • you indicated a wrong file name
  • the file is still memorized in the recent files list, favorites or in the import dialogue window, but the file or the folder where the file was stored has been deleted, moved or renamed.
  • the disc, file or folder are not visible for you as a user anymore
    • because the network disc has been disconnected or the connection is no longer possible
    • because you logged in with a different user name
    • because the file was located in a Dropbox synchronization folder or in another system that is no longer available at the moment
    • because the file was located in a temporary files folder, that your operating system has deleted
  • the access to the file has been blocked by the operating system (insufficient access rights)
  • the file name is contained in a relative path (for example "..\...\test\import.csv") that is no longer correct.

Solutions

Import data with version 8.0.3

In some cases, in version 8.0.3, the program doesn't not find the importation file.
