Mnero Hospital - Tanzania

At Mnero Diocesan Hospital in Tanzania's impoverished Lindi Region, Banana Accounting software has been a lifesaver. 

Our hospital, with about 95 beds, is located in a very rural area and serves a population of over 100,000 people from Mnero and surrounding villages, drawing patients from over 100 kilometers away. The hospital provides essential medical services for the poor rural population, which hardly has access to any other place for medical treatment and is often not insured.

In a region where child mortality rates are still high and access to adequate healthcare remains a challenge, every resource we have must be utilized efficiently. We are therefore immensely grateful for the Banana Accounting software, which enables us to manage our finances effectively despite our limited resources. In former times, despite our best efforts, managing hospital finances was a time consuming and demanding task when everything was done manually on paper. Since implementing Banana software, our financial management has become much smoother. With our accountant and manager as the sole users, we rely on its basic accounting functions and Excel export feature to track our finances efficiently. 

As a hospital heavily dependent on support from donors and partners to sustain our services, Banana has been instrumental in ensuring transparency and accountability in our financial operations. The fact that we can generate accounting reports at any time with the push of a button helps us to attract and retain these donors. As, despite limited government funding, donations enable us to provide essential medical care, particularly for pregnant women and children.
