Mnero Hospital - Tanzania

Mnero Diocesan Hospital is located in Nachingwea District in the Lindi Region in southern Tanzania. This region is one of the poorest in Tanzania. The hospital has about 95 beds and provides medical facilities for Mnero and the surrounding villages, with an estimated population of 100,000 people. The total area covered by patients is even more significant, as the hospital receives people from over 100 km from Mnero village.

"Managing hospital finance has been difficult in the past when everything was on paper. Since we use Banana accounting software, all goes well. It helps us track money as it flows in and out of our accounts. Entering transactions is quick and easy. Also, the fact that it works offline is for us fundamental."

The Mnero Hospital depends on the support of partners, donors and sponsors to be able to carry out our service to patients. About 2/3rds of the care we provide in Mnero is for pregnant women and children. Due to little financial help from the government and mainly poor patients, the hospital spends almost all of its income on staff salaries and medicines. Therefore, there is no possibility of investing in materials, buildings or staff education and development. That is why we rely on the support from donations. Every donation, big or small, is therefore very welcome.

One-off support is also possible by making a donation to the bank account number below.
