Monterey is the next version of a new generation of the operating system that involves important changes also in the libraries and development tools used. Apple has already hinted that more changes are to be expected in the future.
Apple released the new version of the operating system for Mac computers in mid-November 2021.
Since 2001 the versions of the Mac OS have always carried the version number 10. Monterey instead starts the number 12. Monterey is ready for the new Apple computers based on its own processors with ARM technology
This step also represents a big challenge for developers and we wish to apologize that it will become increasingly impossible to guarantee that the versions of Banana Accounting, conceived years ago, remain compatible with Monterey.
Banana Accounting+
Banana Accounting+ is our latest version, compatible with Monterey and it will receive constant updates in the future to maintain compatibility and to also work with ARM processors,
- We therefore recommend and invite those who want to install Monterey on their Mac to switch to offers for existing clients.
- Thanks to the new subscription system, the most updated version of the program will always be available to you for a modest annual fee.
Banana Accounting 9
Banana Accounting 9 is no longer developed further, the last update dates back to November 2020, therefore we cannot guarantee its compatibility with Monterey, and it is possible that new updates released by Apple may cause problems. Users can continue to use Banana Accounting 9 under Monterrey, but no support will be given in case of problems.
- We invite the users of Banana Accounting 9 to take advantage of our offer and switch to Banana Accounting+.
We remind you that all files remain completely compatible and that method of use remains unchanged, hence the transition is very fast and simple. - If you use Banana Accounting 9 with Monterey (or Big Sur), however, we invite you to remain vigilant and to make regular backup copies of your files.
Banana Accounting 8 and 7
From tests carried out by us, it appears that Monterey (as well as Big Sur) unfortunately introduces changes that prevent Banana Accounting 8 and 7 from working correctly. The development of these versions has ended and no updates will be released. We do not know if in the future Apple will fix the problems that cause this incompatibility, so that the programs developed long ago (and therefore also Banana Accounting 8 and 7) can return to work correctly.
- To avoid any problems, we invite the owners of Banana Accounting 8 and 7 for Mac to switch to Banana Accounting+.
