Would you like to disable the extension '%1'?

Cause

This message appears when the program fails to download the update of an extension that is already installed. In these cases, the program asks if you want to disable the extension to avoid further failed update attempts.

The reasons why the program cannot download the update may include:

• The online extension was removed or renamed on Banana’s remote server
• The local extension was removed or renamed

Solution

To avoid further messages, there are three possible solutions:

1. You can disable the extension
   To disable the local extension, confirm the message with Ok, or from the menu Extensions > Manage extensions, select the extension that causes the error and uncheck the Enabled option.
   In this case, a copy remains on your computer, but you won’t be able to use it until you enable it again.
2. You can remove the local extension
   From the menu Extensions > Manage extensions, select the extension that causes the error and click Uninstall.
3. You can remove the link with the remote extension
   From the menu Extensions > Manage extensions, select the extension that causes the error and uncheck the Update automatically option. This way the extension will no longer update the local version through the remote link.

Solution for the Swiss VAT extension beta version

The beta version of the Swiss VAT 2024 extension is no longer available online and must be removed manually. To uninstall the beta version and install the stable version of the extension, follow these steps:

• Close the dialog that displays the message 'Unable to download ... Not Found'. If you have installed both VAT extensions (effective method and balance method), the message will appear twice.
• Click Cancel on the message 'Do you want to disable the extension '[BETA] Swiss VAT Report 2024...'
• Select the command from the menu Extensions > Manage extensions.
• Click on Installed in the list on the left of the dialog to see the extensions installed on your computer.
• Select the extension [BETA] Swiss VAT Report 2024 and click the Uninstall button.
• Check that the extension Swiss VAT Report effective method 2024/2025 or Swiss VAT Report flat-rate/balance rate method 2024/2025 (which replaces the beta version to be uninstalled) is correctly installed. If necessary, click Install.
