The app takes from the previous year file all balances of the segments, and uses them to create the transactions for the current year file.
The app is currently in development and could not be working properly at the moment.
From the selected previous year file, the app checks every possible combination of account-segments in order to take every segment's final balance. For each combination found it is then created a transaction that will be imported in the current year file.
How it works
- Install the app 'import_transaction_segments.js' as indicated on our page Manage Apps
- In the Banana file you want to import the segment transactions choosefrom menu Apps the app 'Import Segments Transactions'.
- Select first the file of destination (current year file). Confirm with 'Open' and 'OK'.
- Select now the previous year file (file from which the segment transactions are taken).
- Specify the date (normally the whole year)
- The transactions are imported in the current year file.
In case you use the minus sign - as segment separator you will need to replace : with - in the imported transactions. This can be done manually or by Find and replace from menu Data.
