The file or the disk are protected or the disk is full.

Causes

This message is displayed when trying to save data to the file. It indicates:

  • The file name
  • That it is impossible saving to disk.

The main causes of the error might be the following:

  • The file is protected and cannot be overwritten or it is located in a folder in which the user does not have writing permission.
  • The file is being used by another person..
  • You are trying to save the file on a non-writable media (e. g. a CD).
  • The file is being used by another process (e. g. when synchronizing files Dropbox temporarily blocks write access.
    In this case, the file can be overwritten again a few moments later.
     

  Solutions

  • Save your file with a different name, choosing a non-protected location, for example your Desktop, or a re-writable external media (e. g. external disk, USB drive).
