Protected columns: cannot delete or edit

One or more columns are protected. If possible, change the attributes of this column.

Causes / Solutions

You tried to edit this cell.

• The column is a system column and cannot be edited.
  • In a Multi-currency accounting file you are trying to manually enter the opening balance in the Opening in basic currency column. This value however is automatically calculated by the program.
    Enter the opening balance in the Opening currency column.
  • You are trying to edit the Budget column in the Accounts table, while the Budget table exists in the accounting. Remove the Budget table to be able to edit the column. See the following page Annual Budget in columns for more information.
• The column was protected by the user.
  • Change the column settings in the Columns setup command.
