As of October 14, 2025, Microsoft has officially ended standard support for Windows 10: no more security updates, system fixes, or technical support will be released. Find out what this means for your Banana Accounting and which precautions are recommended.
What this means for your Banana Accounting
No worries: your Banana won't disappear or “stop working.” Here's what changes and what we recommend:
- Your operating system with Windows 10 will continue to work – your files, databases, and daily operations won’t disappear.
- However, without security updates, the risk of intrusions, vulnerabilities, and compatibility issues increases over time.
- You can check if your PC can upgrade to Windows 11 and start planning a possible upgrade.
- Make regular backups of your accounting files.
With Banana Accounting Plus you can sleep soundly
If you already have a subscription to Banana Accounting Plus, whether you stay with Windows 10 or switch to Windows 11, you can work with peace of mind knowing the software is fully compatible and will remain so thanks to our regular updates.

Protect your data
If you are still using Banana 9 or earlier versions, it’s important to know that these are no longer updated and may not work properly on the latest versions of Windows 10 or on new operating systems such as Windows 11.
To avoid the risk of data loss, we recommend that you switch to Banana Accounting Plus, which is always updated and compatible with Windows 11, macOS, and the latest Linux versions.
In addition to peace of mind, Banana Accounting Plus offers several new features that drastically reduce data entry and review time.
In the meantime, always make backup copies of your files.
Easy switch to Banana Accounting Plus
Unlike previous versions of the program, such as Banana 9, which are no longer updated, the files created with them remain fully compatible with Banana Accounting Plus, both for reading and writing. When you open the program, you will find your Recent and Favorite files in the new Start page (or simply by opening the file from the File > Open menu); you can therefore immediately resume your work.
