Multi-Currency Investment Accounting in a Separate File

Multi-Currency Investment Accounting in a Separate File
Description

With Banana Accounting, you can manage investments in a file separate from your general accounting, using a dedicated file to keep track of individual investments and their related accounting information.

This solution is particularly useful if you use other software for your general accounting or if you prefer to keep detailed investment accounting separate.

The Banana Investment Accounting file allows you to manage:

  • individual investments and their related information;
  • quantities and prices;
  • Book Values and Market Values;
  • purchases and sales;
  • dividends and interest;
  • realized gains and losses;
  • value and exchange rate adjustments.

Investment accounting is therefore managed on two levels:

  • Banana Investment Accounting file – contains the details of individual investments and their related transactions.
  • General accounting – contains the transactions and values required for financial accounting and the preparation of financial statements.

The Banana file can be used as an investment subledger, maintaining the details of individual investments, while in your general accounting you can record aggregated values by account or investment category.

The example file available on this page includes a chart of accounts specifically designed for Investment Accounting, Items for individual investments, and example transactions covering the main investment operations.
