CrossOver Mac is a program that makes Windows applications work on a Mac (Intel) environment without having to install Windows. You work on your Mac as usual. The Windows programs, thus also Banana Accounting, are being launched in their own window like any other Mac program.

Banana Accounting for Mac is a product that contains both the CrossOver Mac Professional and the Banana Accounting licenses.

Installing Banana with CrossOver Mac

  1. Install first the CrossOver software on your Mac

    Attention: CrossOver works only on Intel x86 CPU systems. CrossOver doesn't work on PowerPC Mac G3, G4, G5 systems.

Additional information/ limitations

  • Banana Accounting files can be moved, opened or saved in Mac as well as in Windows.
  • The Banana Accounting software (with the appropriate installer files) can be found in the directory
    [user name][Library]Application Support\Crossover\Bottles\Banana5010\drive_c\Programs Files\Banana50
  • In order to use the function keys (F4, F6) on mac, use the key combination "Fn+function key"

Using Banana Accounting under CrossOver Mac, the following limitations have been reported until now:

  • in order to send the Banana Accounting file via e-mail, the user must manually insert it as an attachment (the Banana function that would create the attachment automatically does not work)
  • when exporting the accounting file in Xml format, if using a style sheet, this needs to be positioned in the same directory as the accounting file (.ac2), otherwise the export display won't work
